PROUD Thursday Online
PROUD THURSDAY is a celebratory event where pupils can show off the work they are proud of, to members of SLT and their peers. Pupils loved this event in the academy each week, where they received praise and congratulations for their efforts on a wide variety of work from Mrs Murphy the Executive Headteacher.
As we all try to adapt with the way the coronavirus has impacted on our lives, and we have had to change our way of living and being educated, our academies don’t want to lose the really good things that enrich our pupils’ experiences. So Northern Education Trust Frederick Nattrass Academy has set up an electronic PROUD THURSDAY.
Parents can email their children’s work to the academy, and Miss Roffe and the Senior Leadership Team will look at every single item and respond with positive, congratulatory comments. Pupils are being encouraged to send documents, photos and videos of whatever piece of work they are most proud of that week, and staff will publish examples through the website and social media. They’ll also get an electronic certificate.
Miss Roffe, Principal, said: “Our pupils are adapting well so far to the restrictions placed upon them, and we are very proud of them, and their desire to continue their learning in difficult circumstances. We love PROUD at Frederick Nattrass and implementing PROUD THURSDAY electronically is one way of demonstrating our pride in them, keeping in touch and allowing our amazing pupils to continue to show how proud they are of their magnificent efforts!
