Currently we run the following clubs either before or after the school day:
Breakfast Club is available from 8.00 until 8.40 am when the children are taken to their classrooms ready for the staggered start to the academy day. The cost is £1 a day per child. The club is situated in our Dining Hall and caters for children whose parents/carers require them to be looked after from an earlier time.
During the session, children are provided with healthy breakfast options including cereal, toast and fruit juice. Once breakfast has been eaten, a range of activities are offered such as board games, art-based activities and Lego.
It is important that parents/carers book in advance through ParentPay to ensure your child has a place. All fees must be paid in advance.
Magic breakfast is a registered charity and ensures no child is too hungry to learn. We are part of this project because we know that a hungry child cannot concentrate and could miss out on their learning. Therefore, if a child has missed breakfast, they will be offered a toasted bagel to stop them feeling hungry.
From 8.00am every day, children are invited into the academy for additional learning time, this may as an intervention to support them or simply to boost confidence in an area. Children who attend early birds do so free of charge and are provided with breakfast.
In Year 6, all pupils are encouraged to attend Brain Box Breakfast (known by Y6 as BBB). This is a study group for pupils to attend and tackle areas of the curriculum that they feel they need further support with. Y6 pupils say BBB gives them confidence and helps them prepare for the SATs. The children enjoy this additional learning time and the opportunity to talk to teachers about concepts they lack confidence with. This relaxed, early start eases the children into school and ensures they are ready for learning at the start of the official academy day.
This year we have a wide range of after school clubs available to children of all ages, including athletics, rugby, football, coding, film club, homework club, art club, street dance and science club. Do not hesitate to ask the office or your child’s teacher for any information on after school clubs
